Although I’m based in Ithaca, NY and most of my wedding work happens in the Finger Lakes region, I always enjoy traveling a bit for the right celebration. Rochester weddings? They never disappoint. The receptions are often next-level, and the couples I’ve worked with there bring amazing energy.
Over the past year, I’ve noticed a surprising number of new inquiries coming from Rochester couples—and recently, I discovered why. A quick Google search led me to a Reddit post where someone had asked for wedding DJ recommendations in the Rochester area. To my delight, one of my past clients had chimed in with a glowing recommendation!
I’m not on Reddit myself, so this was such a fun (and humbling) surprise to stumble upon. Here’s what they wrote:
“My husband and I used Andrew Westphal (westphalmusic.com) for our wedding and he is AMAZING. He is a phenomenal pianist and a top-notch DJ. We had him playing piano (he has his own portable equipment) during our chilly outdoor ceremony and indoors during the cocktail hour, and he then switched to DJ-ing for the reception. His music choices were so intuitive – our guests hardly left the dance floor!”
Huge thanks to that couple (you know who you are!) for taking the time to share your experience. Referrals like these mean the world and truly help others find the right fit for their big day.
Here’s a screenshot of the post that’s been making the rounds—and if you’re planning a wedding in Rochester or anywhere in the Finger Lakes, I’d love to help bring the music to life.
