These days, there are many ways to find great songs to request for your wedding or event. I have a request system that I use with my clients based on Spotify and the DJ Intelligence database. Some clients have very specific tastes that they want to hear incorporated into their event, others simply want to tell me some of their favorite artists and let me do my thing. It can be helpful to know about some favorite family songs, college friend throwbacks or other specific music ideas which can be mixed in at the right time. It’s also great to know a little bit about what your guests tastes might be. Some clients ask for a few guest requests on their invitations which can be a great way to know in advance.
For song ideas, check out the DJ Intelligence database. It’s a great collection of requests from DJ clients across the country. If you click on the “Most Requested” button, you’ll see the top 200 most popular requests as well as a selection of other very helpful lists. Of course, some of the songs may not be appropriate for your tastes as music tastes often vary somewhat based on locations.
